We ran a check on the past 125,000 visitors on what OS they are running regarding all our sites. The Major OS by far is Windows XP. However the part that we found most interesting is that Linux outpaced both Windows Visa and Mac OS combined in terms of users. This could be a factor of the nature of the sites. But that is nullified when many of the websites that run this tracking system are general sports sites, political sites that focus on the 2008 election and forums, such as this one. 4.82% Linux 4.27% Windows 2000 3.27% PPC 2.64% Mac OS X 1.55% Windows Vista 1.45% Unknown 0.09% Windows CE 0.09% Windows ME The above stats are from a fairly large sample of 125,000 unique visitors. Take this for what it's worth. It could be just because of the nature of the sites or it could be because of the actual market share of Linux has increased dramatically over the past several months. W3 Schools has confirmed our study . One or another, it appears that Linux is growing in market share. From our guess, it's stealing much of Vista's thunder. However that is just a guess that is based on 125,000 samples. |

I think its just the nature of the site honestly. People interested and inclined enough to work with technology are more likely to use Linux. This sample shows a much higher use of Mac: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp |

W3 SCHOOLS confirms this study for the most part: Code: 2007 WinXP W2000 Win98 Vista W2003 Linux Mac
March 76.7% 7.2% 0.8% 1.9% 1.9% 3.4% 3.6% It's showing Linux as the second largest OS behind Windows XP (about double that of Vista). |

Since Dell has been selling them with Ubuntu installed... it's a big deal

How do you change windows vista start-up sound? I have windows home premium on my laptop and i Wanted to change the start-up sound but i see that it only has a box that say's, play windows start-up sound. My questions is how exactly do you change the windows vista start-up sound since I cannot find it anywhere? _____________________________________________ |
