The US Senate is participating in a secret session over Iraq War Intelligence to try and sort out just how we got into Iraq. As Americans have witnessed, the Iraq War has fueled the never-ending of partisan blame on the state of the US.
Whatever the Senate chooses to agree on will be very interesting considering the current blame game. Despite what the Democrats preach right now, back in the days before the war, they all stated for the record their support of the war. Even as far back as the late 90s, President Clinton had made numerous statements about Saddam's weapons capabilities which is no different from what President Bush had said. When it comes to the Senate, many including John Kerry and Hillary Clinton came out very strong condemning Saddam. How quickly the story changes.
Now all the Democrats which had flip flopped on pre-war intelligence says that White House fabricated intelligence. So does that mean we distributed that intelligence around the world? Because much of the world corroborated with our intelligence. The Democrats had the access to the same intelligence that Bush had. They blame Bush now because they do what most Democrats do, follow public barometers. Perhaps they should have used their own brains when they looked at the intelligence before approving to go to war. The shame is, I think they did and now they are turning their back on their convictions.
