Moscow is braced for what the opposition claims will be the biggest demonstration in Russia for 20 years. Tens of thousands are expected to gather in a square south of the Kremlin, in the latest show of anger over disputed parliamentary polls.

This should be interesting, do russians have a legal way to protest?

Yes, provided that entrenched authoritarian statist don't take that away from them.

They're just dirty hippies looking for a free ride anyway. Fuck 'em.

I will bite though.

No Slack it is not against the law to be dirty or a hippie but ignorant of the law and in particular property rights is and as Forest Gump might say "stupid is stupid does" and the ignorant filthy hippies are once again proving that they are stupid and ignorant of the law.

Seattle has become a leader in the anti-foreclosure movement as protesters took over a formerly boarded-up duplex last month. They painted the bare wood sidings with green, black and red paint, and strung up a banner that says "Occupy Everything - No Banks No Landlords.

Nope pretty much proved themselves idiots. But sadly it is not against the law to be a idiot only if you believe you can break the law and I am sorry to say but squatting is not protected under the first amendment. Nor is protesting inside stores nor on private property period and yet these idiots still try.

And before you try and say it is a isolated incident better google it because well it is not. It would appear as if they are trying to ramp up their protest even though the overwhelming majority of people are against them now. And breaking the law is not going to win them any brownie points with the people who do play the game and stay with in the law like myself

many people of the past, some smart people at that, have known that change
usually takes years, and the best place to start, is with the youth of the nation.

you see it here with liberalism, and you saw it in NSist germany.

i posted some weeks ago about putin's youth corp. didn't get any responses
or input/critisism. but putin does, in fact, have a "putin youth corps".
russia is swiftly becoming a quagmire. you have capitalists, mafia, socialists,
imperialists/ztarists, NSists and communists. as with germany circa 1919
through 1928 or so, it will be interesting to see which "party/group" has
the command/control/organization to emerge as a leading party. i suspect
a relationship of sorts with putin/medvedev. just like american politics,
the events of russia today will prove to be monumental to the globe
within the next five years.
russia will survive a european currancy collapse, but europe will not.
