A MILKMAN who supplied cannabis to elderly customers to ward off their "aches and pains" is facing a possible jail term in Britain. Robert Holding, 72, pleaded guilty in Burnley Crown Court to two counts of supplying and possessing the drug, newspapers reported today. The court in Lancashire, north-west England, heard that Holding supplied cannabis to 17 households when residents left hand-written requests out with their empty milk bottles.

based on the other article i read on this; the judge already made up his mind the moment court was called to order.

apparantly its heinous crime of epic proportions, but i fail to see the problem other than possession. its not like he was dealing heroin or cocaine to schoolchildren which is basicly how the judge feels about this. he was giving pot to the elderly with serious athiritis and other problems.
they wanted the weed to help manage their aches, so i fail to see why this guy should face jail time other than a suspended sentance

When are we going to stop jailing people for growing plants and focus our attention on real criminal activity...

Well over half of our police/jail spending goes towards drugs and drug related crime, what a waste.

I Know Its a F*****g joke man. It's a plant. we all need to look at the drug problems in the world again with grown up heads. If i can walk out of my front door and buy anything I like within about 10 minutes then its a failed policy and it's gone on way too long. legalize the lot globally and tax them just like ciggies. i mean its ok to sell cigarettes even though they kill hundreds of thousands every year but they're gonna make a scape goat of some guy for selling a bit of weed to some old folks. Alice in wonderland..
