ARVADA, Colorado (AP) -- A 40-year-old woman held sex and drug parties with teenage boys, telling police she wanted to be a "cool mom," authorities say.

Sylvia Johnson allegedly provided marijuana, methamphetamine and alcohol to eight boys at parties held at her suburban Denver home in 2003 and 2004. According to court papers, she admitted having sex with five of the boys.

One of the boys told his mother, and Johnson was arrested in December and charged with offenses including sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

We worked a case similar to this several years ago... In the end, the mom, who was having sex with the boys got off light. The dad is either still on the felony docket, or he has recently been sentenced. The state filed some kind of "organized criminal activity" charge on him. I remember this only because the mom got off light and dear old dad got the shaft - and nobody even ever had any evidence that he had sex with any girls... The boys came over to smoke dope and have sex with mom and bring dad some stuff to sell and make a little cash. Doesn't seem like men and women are viewed the same when the attorneys look at 'em.
